Body Image & Disordered Eating Counselling in BC, Online

Your relationship with food and your body can take up enormous space — mentally, emotionally, and in your daily life — often without anyone around you realizing. Whether you're caught in cycles of restriction, eating you feel you can't control, or relentless thoughts about your body, you deserve support that's compassionate and free of judgment. You don't have to be "sick enough" to deserve help.

This might resonate if you:

  • Think about food, weight, or your body for much of the day

  • Feel out of control around food, or rigid and rule-bound with it

  • Base your worth largely on your appearance

  • Feel intense guilt or distress around eating

  • Avoid situations because of how you feel about your body

  • Use food or its restriction to cope with emotions

How counselling helps

We focus on your relationship with food, your body, and yourself — gently, and at your pace. Therapy helps you understand what these patterns are doing for you, challenge the harsh beliefs underneath, and rebuild a steadier, kinder relationship with your body. The goal is freedom and self-trust, not a new set of rules.

Working as part of your care

Eating concerns are often best supported by a team. Where helpful, we collaborate with your physician, dietitian, or other providers, and we'll help you access additional care if you need it.

Our approach

Our therapists offer weight-inclusive, compassionate care drawing on CBT, ACT, and self-compassion approaches. Sessions are online across BC, in English and Portuguese.

Disordered eating is a sensitive topic. If you're in crisis, the Kelty Eating Disorders program and the National Alliance for Eating Disorders helpline can offer specialized support. If you're in immediate danger, please contact 9-8-8 or emergency services.

That's completely okay. It's normal to feel unsure about what you're experiencing or whether counselling is the right fit. You don't need to have it all figured out before reaching out. We welcome your questions. Our goal is to help you find the support that feels right for you.
