Depression Counselling in BC, Online

Depression rarely announces itself. More often it shows up as a slow fading — of energy, of interest, of the things that used to feel like yours. Getting through the day takes everything you have, and even then it can feel like you're falling short. If you've been telling yourself you should be able to snap out of it, please know: depression isn't a matter of willpower, and reaching out is not giving up.

You might recognize:

  • Persistent low mood, sadness, or emptiness

  • Loss of interest in things you used to enjoy

  • Fatigue, heaviness, or trouble getting started on anything

  • Changes in sleep or appetite

  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions

  • Harsh self-criticism or a sense of hopelessness about the future

How counselling helps

Therapy gives depression somewhere to go besides inward. We start by understanding what your low mood is connected to — circumstances, patterns, losses, or the way you've learned to talk to yourself — and we move at a pace that doesn't ask more of you than you have to give.

Small, manageable steps come first: re-engaging with even one meaningful activity, softening the inner critic, and interrupting the thought loops that keep you stuck. Over time, the goal is not just relief but a renewed sense of connection to your own life.

Our approach

We work from evidence-based approaches including CBT, behavioural activation, emotion-focused therapy, and psychodynamic work, chosen to match where you are. Sessions are online throughout BC and available in English and Portuguese. If at any point you need a higher level of care, we'll help you find it.

You don't have to face this alone, or be judged for it. Book a free consult.

Do you still have questions...?

That's completely okay. It's normal to feel unsure about what you're experiencing or whether counselling is the right fit. You don't need to have it all figured out before reaching out. We welcome your questions. Our goal is to help you find the support that feels right for you.
