PTSD Counselling in BC, Online
When something overwhelming happens — a single terrifying event or years of ongoing harm — your brain can get stuck in survival mode. Post-traumatic stress isn't a sign that you're broken or weak; it's evidence of just how much you lived through. With the right support, the symptoms that feel permanent right now can ease.
PTSD may involve:
Flashbacks or feeling like the event is happening again
Nightmares or disrupted sleep
Being easily startled or constantly on alert
Avoiding anything that reminds you of what happened
Feeling emotionally flat, detached, or far away
Sudden waves of fear, anger, or grief
How counselling helps
Effective PTSD therapy is paced and collaborative. We begin by helping you feel more grounded and resourced in the present, so that when we do approach the difficult memories, you're not facing them unsupported. Processing the trauma — through approaches like EMDR — allows your mind to file the memory away as the past, reducing its power to hijack your present.
You set the pace. Nothing happens before you're ready.
Our approach
Our therapists use EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, and somatic and mindfulness-based skills for regulation. If your PTSD is connected to a motor vehicle accident, see our ICBC page — those sessions may be covered. Care is online throughout BC, in English and Portuguese.

Do you still have questions...?
That's completely okay. It's normal to feel unsure about what you're experiencing or whether counselling is the right fit. You don't need to have it all figured out before reaching out. We welcome your questions. Our goal is to help you find the support that feels right for you.
