ADHD Counselling in BC, Online

Do you feel scattered, forgetful, or overwhelmed by tasks that seem effortless for everyone else? Do you start strong and stall out, lose track of time, or work twice as hard just to keep up? ADHD can make daily life feel like an uphill climb — and because the effort is invisible, others may mistake it for carelessness when you're actually trying harder than anyone knows. Counselling can help you understand how your brain works and build systems that work with it, not against it.

You might explore ADHD support if you notice:

  • Difficulty focusing, organizing, or finishing what you start

  • Feeling overwhelmed by everyday responsibilities

  • Procrastination, even on things that matter to you

  • Forgetfulness and losing track of time or belongings

  • Restlessness, racing thoughts, or trouble relaxing

  • Emotional sensitivity, irritability, or low frustration tolerance

Do I need a formal diagnosis?

Not necessarily — and it's worth knowing that clinical counsellors do not provide formal ADHD diagnoses. A formal assessment (through a psychologist, psychiatrist, or physician) can be helpful if you're considering medication or need documentation for school or work, and we're glad to point you toward trusted resources. But many people benefit from counselling without a diagnosis, simply by building skills and self-understanding around the challenges they're already living with.

How counselling helps

ADHD counselling is about far more than symptom management. We work on personalized systems for organization and follow-through that fit your natural rhythms; emotional regulation and resilience; reframing years of self-criticism into self-trust; and understanding patterns like procrastination, avoidance, and hyperfocus so you can work with them.

Our approach

Our therapists draw on CBT targeting executive functioning, coaching strategies, and affirming, strengths-based work. Sessions are online across BC, in English and Portuguese. See also our Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy and Executive Functioning pages.

Do you still have questions...?

That's completely okay. It's normal to feel unsure about what you're experiencing or whether counselling is the right fit. You don't need to have it all figured out before reaching out. We welcome your questions. Our goal is to help you find the support that feels right for you.
