Christian Counselling Online in BC
Faith-integrated therapy for the whole person: mind, body, relationships, and spirit
For many people, faith isn't a side topic. It shapes how you understand suffering, hope, family, forgiveness, and who you are. Yet it can be hard to find a Christian therapist who is both clinically skilled and genuinely comfortable when you bring God, prayer, or Scripture into the room.
At Psychotherapy Room, Tolu offers Christian counselling online across BC and in person in Vancouver. Her Christian counselling services are evidence-based, and they respect and, when you wish, actively draw on your faith. You won't have to explain or defend your beliefs, and you won't be pressured to adopt anyone else's. You decide how much faith is part of your sessions.
What Is Christian Therapy?
Christian therapy is professional counselling that makes room for your faith. You work with a trained clinician who understands both mental health and the role belief can play in healing. Faith doesn't replace good clinical care. It adds depth to it. As a Christian therapist, Tolu combines proven therapeutic approaches with the parts of your faith you want included.
Who Christian Counselling Can Help
Christian counselling may be a good fit if you are working through anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or burnout and want your faith to be part of healing. It's also for people facing marriage, family, or parenting challenges who want support that honours their values, and for those experiencing spiritual distress: doubt, a sense of distance from God, anger at God, or questions that feel hard to voice in church.
You are also welcome here if you are carrying hurt connected to a faith community. That can include spiritual or church-related harm, conflict with leadership, or the pain of leaving or changing churches. Newcomers are supported too, especially when faith is central to how you are adjusting to life in Canada.
Christian Counselling for Marriage and Couples
Faith can be a strength in a relationship, and it can also be where tension shows up. Christian counselling for marriage gives you and your partner a calm space to work through communication struggles, conflict, trust, and different expectations about faith, family, and roles. Christian relationship counseling can also support you if you are dating, engaged, or navigating a major change together. Sessions are available for individuals, couples, and families.
How Faith Is Integrated in Therapy
Every person is different, so integration is collaborative. Depending on your preferences, sessions may include:
Exploring how your beliefs about God, grace, and identity shape your emotional life
Bringing Scripture, prayer, or Christian contemplative practices into coping and reflection
Working through forgiveness, guilt, and shame in a way that is psychologically sound and spiritually meaningful
Connecting your values to decisions about relationships, work, and boundaries
This sits alongside established approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based practices.
Our Approach to Christian Counselling
Our work is grounded in respect. We are trauma-informed, which means we move at your pace and pay attention to safety, including spiritual safety. We are culturally responsive, recognizing that Christian faith is lived differently across traditions, denominations, and cultures. If your identity and faith intersect, you can read more about faith-based counselling with a BIPOC counsellor. And we are non-judgmental: if your faith feels strong, fragile, or complicated right now, you are welcome here.
If at any point you'd prefer to focus less on faith, or more, simply let Tolu know. It's your therapy.
